Bulgaria's President Commemorates Day of Homage to Communist Regime Victims

On the occasion of the Day of Gratitude and Homage to the Victims of the Communist Regime, President Rumen Radev stated that the painful divisions in society may be overcome by telling the whole truth and “not trading with the past”.

The head of state made the comment on his official Facebook profile.

“Today, we commemorate the Day of Gratitude and Homage to the Victims of the Communist Regime. The start of this tradition was given on the initiative of two Bulgarian presidents. In our history, the open wounds and unclosed pages are still many. As the head of state, I share my conviction that only together, by telling the whole truth and not trading with the past, can we overcome the painful divisions in our society. Every innocent victim deserves our homage,” stated Radev.
