Armenian social affairs ministry introduces new instant servicing system
YEREVAN, February 1. /ARKA/. The new system introduced by the social service of Armenia allows providing requested information sheets for formalizing pensions and benefits just in 15 minutes, Artem Asatryan, labor and social affairs minister, told journalists on Wednesday.
In his words, 60,000 people asked for them in 2016. Information sheets have been provided in five- to seven working days before and this created corruption risks, since citizens who want these papers immediately searched for so-called mediators.
This will become another step, he said, which will simplify bureaucratic procedures for Armenian citizens.
«It is also important that Armenian citizens as well as persons having dual citizenship and foreigners can apply for information sheets to any territorial unit of the service or to the head office, regardless of the place of registration,» Asatryan said.
The ministry, he said, is now discussing with the foreign affairs ministry room for making the same procedure available to Armenian citizens who live abroad.
«The best instrument combating corruption is introduction of such systems as well as public awareness,» the minister said.
