EU Court Rules Against UK’s Wide Ranging Snoopers Charter

The Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that general and indiscriminate retention of traffic and location data under the UK Investigatory Powers Act stipulating that Internet providers should store information about users and provide this data to law enforcement is illegal.
