Nalbandian discusses Karabakh conflict with new French co-chair of OSCE Minsk group
YEREVAN, December 14. /ARKA/. Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian discussed today in Yerevan the Nagorno - Karabakh conflict with the new French co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Stefan Visconti, who replaced Pierre Andrieu, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
"The sides held extensive discussion on issues related to the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh problem. Nalbandian stressed that the imperative to advance the negotiation process is the strict implementation of the agreements reached at the summits in Vienna and St. Petersburg", - the ministry said in a statement.
During the May 16 meeting in Vienna, Austria, the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to work out safeguards against ceasefire violations around Nagorno-Karabakh and resume their search for a compromise peace deal to end the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
After the June 20 meeting in St. Petersburg, the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to increase the number of international observers in the Karabakh conflict zone and noted the achievement of mutual understanding on a number of issues that will create conditions for progress in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement process. -0-
