Armenian emergency ministry reports about powerful quake in Italy
YEREVAN, August 24. /ARKA/. A powerful earthquake has stricken Italy, the press office of Armenia’s emergency ministry reported Wednesday morning.
According to the press release, the ministry’s seismic protection service received a signal about a 6.1 magnitude earthquake.
The quake hypocenter is at a depth of 10 kilometers, and shocks in epicenter ranged between 6 and 7.
After a while, the service reported 5.4 and 4.9 aftershocks following the initial quake.
At least 14 people are reportedly dead and many more are reportedly trapped under rubble after the earthquake. ---0---
