801 people have undergone government-paid heart surgeries in Armenia over first six months of this year
YEREVAN, August 23. /ARKA/. As many as 801 people underwent government-paid heart surgeries in Armenia in the first half of this year, Sergey Khachatryan, Armenian deputy health minister, told journalists on Tuesday.
“Now particular measures are being taken to make this medical procedure cheaper – in particular, Gyumri city’s medical center intends to offer stenting for AMD 1,200,000 instead of the present AMD 1,800,000,” he said adding that other medical centers are expected to do the same.
Some 1,516 people, he said, received medical services in 2015 as part of this program.
The project has been developed as part of Serzh sargsyan’s election campaign. The program is intended for Armenian citizens, but foreigners can enjoy the same preference only in exceptional cases and only with the Armenian health minister’s permission--0---
