Woman held for drug dealing in Butterworth

A 51-year-old woman has been arrested in Butterworth on suspicion of dealing in drugs after she was found in possession of 62 Mandrax tablets.

King William’s Town – Butterworth policing cluster task team officers have arrested a 51-year-old woman for allegedly dealing in drugs, Eastern Cape police said on Sunday.

She was allegedly found in possession of 62 Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R6 200, spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha said.

The woman was arrested at the old railway houses in Butterworth on Saturday. The arrest came as a result of police intelligence. She was expected to appear in the Butterworth Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of dealing in drugs, Manatha said.
