|||Butterworth - Two men were expected to appear in the Dutywa Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday in connection with the rape of a 17-year-old girl, Eastern Cape police said.
The suspects, aged 19 and 20 years, were arrested at Njakazi Locality in Chizela Village on Monday, police spokesman Jackson Manatha said.
“It is alleged that the victim was going home with a group of other girls on Saturday August 6 at about 20:00. The girls met the two suspects who grabbed the 17-year-old victim,” said Manatha.
“Both suspects allegedly took turns in raping the victim. They were disturbed by the light of the oncoming vehicle.”
The two suspects fled the scene, but Manatha said the girl knew her attackers and identified them to police, who later arrested the duo.
