National security agency’s staff dismissed by Armenian president
YEREVAN, August 10. /ARKA/. Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian president, issued a decree on Wednesday dismissing the National Security Agency’s staff and instructed the head of his administration and the head of the agency to submit the composition of another security council as well as related papers before September 1.
The government and the head of the national security service will take necessary measures to ensure social guarantees to the dismissed officers.
The decree comes into force on the tenth day from the date of its release.
In Sargsyan’s words, he decided so to enhance the significance of the national security and to assign a new status of constitutional agency to it after the Constitution amended by him comes into force.
He said the changes imply transformation of the consulting agency into a decision-making establishment. --0---
