Brexit: should expats in Switzerland be worried?

If British voters decide on June 23 to leave the European Union, in effect Brits abroad will wake up as non-EU citizens, in theory putting them in a different queue for Swiss work permits, visas and various study programmes. How nervous should these “Brexpats” be?  The short answer is no one knows. Because no country has ever left the European Union, there are no precedents and everything will depend on how rancorous the divorce negotiations are between London and Brussels.  Nevertheless, a recent debate on the subject in Geneva, organised by the British Swiss Chamber of Commerce and featuring eminent British politicians, businesspeople and journalists, promised to shed some informed speculation on the matter.  “You shouldn’t be worried.
