Monopoly on power

The Kyiv Post remembers very well the first two years of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych’s regime, in 2010 and 2011.

We ran editorial after editorial warning of rampant corruption and monopolization of power, of fake reform and fake anti-corruption drives. Many embassies, business groups and others dismissed us as negative pessimists. Some went even further – writing column after column extolling Yanukovych’s non-existent democratic credentials.
