Armenian government to lavish AMD 50 million from budget to Syunik governor
YEREVAN, June 23. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Cabinet ministers decided Thursday at their routine meeting to grant tax preferences to Khachatryan Brothers Company that is owned by Syunik province governor Surik Khachatryan and his brother Sasun Khachatryan, Haykakan Zhamanak reports.
According to the newspaper, the brothers are planning to build a cascade of small hydro power plants in Syunik and have to invest AMD 1.9 billion to reach their goal. Around AMD 489 million will be spent on purchasing hydro generators, hydro turbines and other equipment from China.
It means the Syunik governor will enjoy a three-year VAT payment adjournment, and the actual amount of the preferences is AMD 50 million. --0----
