Former US Officials Urge NATO to Maintain Permanent Presence in E. Europe

Already planning to station rotational military forces in Eastern Europe, in alarmingly increasing numbers, some ex-US officials have suggested that NATO needs a permanent force in the region, despite Russia’s warnings against the alliance’s expansion and the prospective move’s violation of a 1997 treaty.
