Not every great artist is a great podcast guest. There are plenty of writers, filmmakers or actors who, while their work is electric on screen, can be a little dull in conversation, or react curiously to the format of long-form conversation in that way. But then there are certain people who are boon to any podcast they might appear on, and Judd Apatow is one of them.
Over the years, the comedy titan’s popped up on most of the biggest talk-show-style podcasts, from WTF and You Made It Weird to Brian Koppelman’s The Moment and Bill Simmons, and he’s always been an engaging, honest and funny listen. Late last week, Apatow popped up for a second time on the Nerdist podcast, and it’s one of his best appearances to date.
