Minister: Armenia doing everything to attract investments
YEREVAN, April 22. /ARKA/. Armenian authorities are doing whatever is possible to attract investments, Artsvik Minasyan, Armenian economy minister, said Friday at ‘Invest Armenia-2016’ business forum.
In particular, room for considering in international courts economic disputes broken out in Armenia is being discussed. «This will allow protecting investors' rights,» Minasyan said.
In his opinion, if protection of investors' right is strengthened, investments will flow to Armenia.
«It is also necessary to create competitive environment and struggle against monopolies,» he added. «Legislative changes will allow solving these problems.»
According to the National Statistical Service, about AMD 123.6 billion invested in Armenia's real sector from abroad in 2015 not through banks and without state administration against AMD 167.4 billion in 2014 – about AMD 70.4 billion came as direct foreign investments against AMD 117.2 billion a year before.
The second international business forum ‘Invest Armenia-2016’ is under way in Yerevan today. Armenia-Iran and Armenia-Eurasian Economic Union cooperation is being discussed at the forum and economic development prospects are being considered. ($1 – AMD 479.37). --0-----
