X-ray scanner manufacturer Smiths swoops on counter-terror rival Morpho Detection in £559m deal

Smiths bought Morpho from its French owner Safran as it expands into new areas of counter-terrorism. Smiths will now oversee production of ePassport scanners being used at many airports.
