Appeal court refuses to appoint lawyer for a Victoria fraudster

The B.C. Court of Appeal has refused to appoint a lawyer for a Victoria fraudster who bilked a non-profit society of more than $200,000.

In March 2014, Anita Marianne Dunkers was convicted of one count of fraud over $5,000 after a B.C. Supreme Court judge found the bookkeeper for the Capital Families Association had deceitfully prepared 270 cheques made payable to herself from the association's bank account.
