It was not the right time to take West Ham job - Liverpool manager Klopp
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed he turned down the opportunity to become West Ham United's manager during the summer because it was the 'wrong time'.
Klopp said he had no shortage of suitors after parting ways with Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season, but admitted he was not ready to return to coaching right away.
"I'm not sure I should say too much about this, but in the summer I was not available for anybody," Klopp said.
"I was sure I needed a few days for myself without thinking too much about football. I am a lucky guy so there was a lot of interest from different clubs.
"If West Ham want to talk about this, they can do it. It is a good club, a really good club, but it was a wrong time for all the clubs who were interested.
"It had nothing to do with West Ham or what I think about West Ham. Everything is OK."
