Liverpool boss Klopp brushes off 'soft German tag'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he was not offended by Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce labelling him a 'soft German'.

Allardyce made the comments is response to Klopp's assertion Black Cats midfielder Jermaine Lens should have been sent off for a heavy tackle on Mamadou Sakho during the Reds' 1-0 win over Sunderland on Wednesday.

"It's absolutely not a problem, a lot of people have said worse about me," Klopp said.

"Soft German? Yeah I think it is the first time. You see the situation, you see it again, then you will know that I was not too wrong in judging this moment.

"Mama is still alive and everything is OK. In my opinion situations like this have to be judged different. I had no arguments with the Sunderland bench. I've nothing else to say."
