Director Steven Soderbergh was all ready to pack it in, at least for a while. There were other aspirations he wanted to devote time to, such as painting, photography — two endeavors that he works on more privately — and as he had thoroughly detailed in his 2013 State of Cinema address at the San Francisco International Film Festival, the game was getting more and more rigged.
