What Millennial Women Really Want From Santa... Baby
'Tis the season for women to have the full range of reproductive choices!
That's the theme of a "Santa Baby" parody from actor and director Dominique Salerno and author and actor Laura Hankin. The women echo the sultry style of the original holiday classic, but give it a new spin as they sing, "Santa baby, so help me freeze my eggs tonight."
Salerno and Hankin told The Huffington Post they chose "Santa Baby" for their parody so they could make the song less outdated and more realistic.
"We chose to use 'Santa Baby' because it's so clearly about that traditional gender posturing that women do for men to get 'what they want,'" they said. "We thought it would be fun to juxtapose that outdated trope with the actual desires of a real woman in 2015."
The duo also wanted to make a statement about the ongoing battle for reproductive rights women are still (unfortunately) fighting in 2015.
"Instead of asking Santa for a yacht or a ring, women want something else nowadays: more reproductive freedom."
You heard 'em, Santa.
