Intensive gardens planned on 7,700 hectares in Armenia, 200-230blninvestment needed

YEREVAN, November 12. /ARKA/. Since 2018, Armenia has received applications to establish gardens on approximately 7,700 hectares as part of its intensive gardening program.nbsp;/pp

It is expected that investments totaling between 200 and 230 billion drams will be attracted to the project, according to Arman Khojoyan, Deputy Minister of Economy./pp

Currently, gardens have already been established on approximately 2,600 hectares. The government's goal is to foster a new culture of gardening. Today, we can confidently say that this culture has already taken root in Armenia and holds great potential for further development, Khojoyan said at a press conference on Tuesday./pp

He reported that in 2024, applications were received for the establishment of gardens on 780 hectares, with compensation being available for 120 hectares./pp

It is planned to compensate approximately 1.7 billion drams by the end of the year. In 2021, the government set an annual target for creating gardens on about 1,000 hectares, and this target has been exceeded every year, Khojoyan said./pp

The Deputy Minister also reported that the highest rates of garden creation were recorded in the Armavir, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, and Ararat regions. -0-/p
