Share of Yerevan residents paying bus fares with a QR code has significantly increased

YEREVAN, November 4. /ARKA/. The municipal CJSC Yerevan Bus has reported a significant increase in the share of bus passengers who pay their fares using QR codes./pp
Over the past two weeks, 3.7 million passengers have used the buses, of which 126 thousand, or 3.4%, paid through the unified ticket system, said Beglar Kirakosyan, director of ‘’Yerevan Bus’’ CJSC, at a meeting at the mayor's office./pp
Kirakosyan reported that on November 1, out of 316.8 thousand bus passengers, 52.15 thousand (16.5%) paid for their fares using a QR code; on November 2, out of 231.9 thousand, 50.8 thousand (21.9%) did the same; and on November 3, out of 176.6 thousand, 46.1 thousand (26.1%) paid this way./pp
From November 1, payment for travel on MAN, ZhongTong, and GazelCity buses can only be made using 100-dram coins or QR codes (from a mobile app or a paper printout from terminals). -0-/p brp/p
