YEREVAN, September 26 /ARKA/. Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan denied reports that about 500-700 heavy trucks are waiting in line on the border with Georgia to enter Armenia due to the ineffective work of Armenian customs officers.br/pp

We periodically receive reports of some problems on the border. However, as soon as we try to deal with the problem, it often turns out that it has already been solved. Trade turnover is constantly growing, so it is necessary to constantly develop and expand infrastructure on both the Armenian-Georgian and Georgian-Russian borders, Papoyan told journalists./pp

As an alternative to the ‘’Upper Lars’’ checkpoint on the Georgian-Russian border, the minister named the Poti-Novorossiysk ferry crossing, but the ferry is currently unprofitable. In his opinion, as a result of the increased throughput capacity of ‘’Upper Lars’’, the need for a ferry has temporarily disappeared./pp

The State Revenue Committee has also refuted these reports, saying that on this website - a href=https://rs.ge/TirPark-enhttps://rs.ge/TirPark-en/a anyone can monitor the movement of trucks from Georgia to Armenia online. ‘’The data shows that at the moment 220 trucks are waiting in line to enter Armenia in Sadakhlo. This is a normal working situation, we do not see grounds for a negative assessment of the work of the customs service, the State Revenue Committee said. -0-/p
