A court has placed a security arrest on the mansion of former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov near Moscow in the case of bribery on a particularly large scale. This is reported by TASS with reference to law enforcement agencies.
The house is located in the village "Razdory-2" on Rublevo-Uspenskoye highway in Odintsovo urban district of Moscow region. Its approximate value is one billion rubles. In addition to real estate, Ivanov's accounts and the property of his relatives were also arrested.
Ivanov ' s detention became known on April 23. The next day he was arrested. Ivanov is accused of taking a bribe in the amount of Br1.185 billion. According to the investigation, he entered into a criminal conspiracy with the heads of contractors working at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense, and signed contracts with them in return for illegal personal remuneration. On June 20, Ivanov was dismissed from his post.
The accounts, assets and real estate belonging to the defendant were arrested. In addition, the court seized two cars and a motorcycle of the official, including a Chevrolet Suburban. In April, Ivanov's apartment was searched.
A friend of the former deputy minister , Sergei Borodin, was also taken into custody as part of the case. The third defendant in the case, co-founder of Olimpstroy Alexander Fomin, was also arrested.
On June 20, the court extended Ivanov's arrest until September 23. Later, on August 5, former Deputy Defense Minister Ivanov asked to soften the preventive measure for him, as he has positive characteristics from his place of service, state awards and commendations, and is also a participant in combat operations.
