Armenian, Hungarian Foreign Ministers discuss diplomatic ties, EU partnership

YEREVAN, September 11. /ARKA/. Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, according to the Armenian Foreign Ministry./pp

The ministers discussed various bilateral issues, emphasizing the importance of continuing cooperation across multiple sectors in parallel with an active political dialogue./pp

Both sides underlined the need for increased joint efforts to enhance economic and trade collaboration. They also touched on steps towards establishing permanent diplomatic missions in the capitals of both countries, following the re-establishment of full diplomatic relations in 2022./pp

Additionally, the two ministers reviewed the ongoing Armenia-EU partnership. Mirzoyan expressed hope for progress in the Armenia-EU visa liberalization dialogue, noting that the decision to initiate talks had been made during Hungary's current presidency of the EU Council. He hoped further negotiations would advance successfully during Hungary's remaining presidency./pp

Regarding regional matters, Mirzoyan reiterated Armenia’s approach to the peace process with Azerbaijan, which includes a proposal for a peace treaty and initiatives aimed at unlocking regional transportation links./p br br
