Armenia's construction sector grows by 15.7% to over 202 billion drams in January-June

YEREVAN, August 8. /ARKA/. Armenia's construction sector grew to over 202 billion drams (in current prices) in the first six months of 2024, up 15.7% compared to the same period of 2023, the National Statistical Committee reported.nbsp;/pp

It said the figure stood at over AMD 53 billion in June, up 18% year-on-year.nbsp; State-funded construction amounted to AMD 42.5 billion or 21% of the total (up 59%).nbsp;/pp

Community-financed construction totalednbsp;about 13.1 billion drams (down 13.1%). Construction worth 1.6 billion drams was financed through humanitarian aid (a decrease of 30%)./pp

Organisations financed construction worth 95.6 billion drams (down 6.5%).nbsp; Construction financed by the population increased by almost 59% to 54.6 billion drams.nbsp;/pp

The World Bank loans financed construction worth 2 billion drams, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development – 723 million drams, the Asian Development Bank – 6.9 billion drams, the German Development Bank – 1,8 billion drams and the European Investment Bank - 805 million drams.
