Armenia receives humanitarian aid worth $68.3m in H1 2024

YEREVAN, August 7. /ARKA/. In the first half of 2024, Armenia received 942.5 tons of humanitarian aid worth 27,127.2 million drams ($68,318,400), the National Statistical Committee of Armenia reported on Wednesday./pp
This is a significant increase compared to the same period last year when the country received 543.7 tons of aid valued at 3,209.2 million drams ($8,212,100)/pp
The top three countries contributing humanitarian aid to Armenia this year are the United States, Germany, and Switzerland. The U.S. provided aid worth $41,088,600, accounting for 60.1% of the total and marking a 42.7-fold increase from the previous year. Germany's contributions amounted to $7,920,500, representing 11.6% of the total, with an 11.6-fold increase. Switzerland provided $3,205,200 in aid, making up 4.7% of the total and showing a 4.9-fold increase./pp
The largest category of humanitarian aid received by Armenia consisted of plastics and rubber products, totaling 410.8 tons valued at $380,200. Textiles were the second-largest category, with 134.3 tons worth $1,865,800, followed by land, air, and water transport vehicles, amounting to 88.2 tons valued at $5,734,000./p br br
