Armenian government approves pilot program for beer labeling
p
YEREVAN, August 1. /ARKA/. The Armenian government approved a pilot program for labeling beer during its session on Thursday./pp
According to the government decree, beer has been subject to mandatory labeling in Armenia since 2013. To meet this requirement, it is deemed necessary to introduce a system of labeling beer with control marks. The corresponding pilot program must be implemented before the system's full-scale introduction./pp
The primary goal of the program is to obtain an accurate and realistic picture of the circulation of goods in the market through an electronic tracking system./pp
The labeling of products will be done using a special DataMatrix code. This digital marking code is tamper-proof and unique for each product unit. The codes will be provided to producers and importers in digital form by the National Operator./pp
As part of the project, a mobile application will be developed to allow consumers to easily verify the legality of a product's origin, obtain all necessary information, and facilitate public control over the quality of previously produced goods./p
