EU Supports Armenia’s National Education Strategy with €20-25 Million Grant

The European Union (EU) backs the implementation of Armenia’s national education strategy with grant assistance amounting to €20-25 million, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia Ambassador Vassilis Maragos said on Friday at the opening of the World Congress on Armenian Studies./pp
Maragos highlighted that the support will focus on advancing education and fostering a competitive economy. He emphasized the EU’s strong commitment to its partnership with Armenia, particularly in the cultural sector, underscoring the importance of preserving Armenia’s historical and cultural heritage./pp
The European Union and Armenia are cooperating under a very significant agreement, the Partnership Plan. Since 2013, this agreement has led to multifaceted cooperation, including cultural diversity and economic collaboration, Maragos stated./pp
Earlier in May, Maragos noted that strategic cooperation between the EU and Armenia in the education sector began in 2019, with the EU’s educational program portfolio in Armenia exceeding €70 million./pp
Armenia’s education development strategy through 2030 includes significant reforms such as the establishment of STEM laboratories in various regions, the introduction of new curricula, the construction of schools, the development of school management systems, research into the green economy, and the evaluation of school performance./pp br/p
