Armenia signs 235 forest lease agreements worth 92 million drams since Q3 2022

YEREVAN, July 15. /ARKA/. Armenia signed approximately 235 forest lease agreements, with the annual rental sum amounting to 92 million drams since the third quarter of 2022, Sevak Markosyan, director of the Armforest public agency, said at a press conference on Monday./pp

Markosyan also noted that the investment programs approved by the departmental commission currently total around 15.1 billion drams./pp

He explained that Armforest monitors both the financial commitments of the tenants and any omissions, miscalculations, and violations related to the Forest Code, which the company reports to the eco-patrol service./pp

Arthur Petrosyan, an official with Armenia’s Environment Ministry, added that Armenia mainly leases its forest territories to businesses in the tourism sector./p br
