FTSE LIVE: Footsie stays weak as investors await key US jobs report

Approaching mid morning, the FTSE 100 index was 6.7 points, or 0.1 per cent lower at 6,268.3, consolidating after having dropped almost 146 points yesterday after European bourses tumbled.
