Among the types of damage subject to compensation, Ghazaryan highlighted damage to apartments in multi-apartment buildings, private houses, and damage to primary household property. He added that if any affected individuals are not entitled to compensation, they may receive social assistance to mitigate the damage./pp

In the most affected communities, the compensation will be 60,000 drams per square meter, and in other communities, 40,000 drams per square meter. There will be a maximum size of living space eligible for compensation, set at 80 square meters. For each apartment, 1.2 million drams will be allocated in the most affected communities or in case of loss of real estate, and 800,000 drams in other communities, Ghazaryan reported./pp

The minister indicated that in all cases, the assistance will be transferred to the beneficiaries' bank accounts. Moreover, 60% of the assistance must be used in a non-cash manner, and the remaining 40% can be withdrawn in cash, he informed, adding that 4 million drams will be separately allocated for housing repairs./pp

Heavy rains flooded Armenia’s northeastern provinces Lori and Tavush on 25 and 26 May, causing the Debed, Aghstev, and Tashir rivers to overflow their banks. As a result, portions of the railway and the freeway connecting Armenia with Georgia were destroyed. So far, the death toll stands at 4, and 443 individuals have been evacuated from the flooded area. A total of 300 million drams has been allocated for recovery efforts.br/p br br
