Pashinyan: Freedom House reports help government promote reforms

YEREVAN, June 27. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Marc Behrendt, director for Europe and Eurasia programs of the international human rights organization Freedom House, the Armenian government reported on Thursday./pp
Pashinyan emphasized the cooperation and dialogue between the Armenian government and the civil society which contributes to the effective implementation of democratic reforms in various fields. Armenia’s leader noted that Freedom House's reports also provide an important impetus to the government in promoting reforms. The Prime Minister emphasized that the development and reform agenda of democratic institutions is a strategy for the government./pp
The parties also discussed issues related to the fight against corruption, freedom of speech, ensuring the independence of the judicial system and the reforms being implemented in other directions, the issues of the individuals who were forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh and the steps taken by the Armenian government to solve them./p br br
