Glendale mayor to arrive in Armenia to participate in conference on local democracy

YEREVAN, 11 June. /ARKA/. Mayor of the American city of Glendale (with strong Armenian community) Helen Asatryan said she will be visiting Armenia from June 11 to 20 to participate in the US-Armenia conference on local democracy organised by the US Department of State and executive bodies of US cities./pp

Asatryan's visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, exploring economic opportunities and supporting the organisation of cultural and educational exchanges between Glendale and Armenia./pp

The Glendale mayor will also visit Gyumri, possibly Kapan as well, time permitting. During the visit, Asatryan will hold meetings with representatives of the Armenian government, businessmen and representatives of media and NGOs./pp

Asatryan will also participate in discussions on strengthening ties with Armenia and Glendale's sister cities in Armenia, democracy, sustainable development, trade, tourism and technological cooperation./pp
