Man shot in leg in Back of the Yards

A 24-year-old man was shot in the leg Tuesday afternoon on the South Side. The shooting happened at 4:55 p.m. in the 800 block of West Garfield, according to Chicago Police. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said. The man has documented gang ties, police said.
