Watch: You Won't Need Roads With This Time Travel Supercut
Nerds around the globe just celebrated “Back to the Future” day earlier this week, and while other filmmakers have tried to clear the admittedly very high bar that Robert Zemeckis and company set, it is in the opinion of this writer that the standard set by the first 'Future' film has yet to be matched in this genre. Clearly, it’s not for lack of effort: time travel films are still a dime a dozen, as popular and lucrative as ever. This is due, I would guess, in no small part to the malleability of the genre’s central gimmick: it’s hard to think of any common ground shared by films like “The Terminator” and “Clockstoppers,” save for the fact that they both feature protagonists who hop madly across the space-time continuum.
