Johannesburg - Former Springbok captain Jean de Villiers is close to signing for Aviva Premiership side Leicester Tigers according website TheRugbyPaper.

De Villiers retired from international rugby after sustaining a broken jaw in South Africa's second World Cup group game against Samoa. The 34-year-old, however, did not rule out playing on locally or abroad and now seems headed for the deal with Leicester.

De Villiers was capped 109 times for the Springboks and holds the record for the most capped player at centre with 94 Tests in that position. - ANA
