Drugs Found in Car Used by District Police Chief of Bulgaria's Montana

The District Prosecutor's Office for the region of Montana, northwestern Bulgaria, confirmed reports that "drugs" were discovered in a vehicle that Ivaylo Antonov, Director of the local police unit, uses at work.

Antonov told private national bTV station on Tuesday he didn't know of the substances which were found by mechanics, in a secret compartment in the car while during repair.

He argued he hadn't used the vehicle in the previous two weeks.

A spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday told NOVA TV station the illegal substances (she didn't disclose what substances) had been hidden there by someone else, but the ongoing probe was still working into that version.
