SA’s September headline CPI flat

SA’s headline consumer inflation was unchanged at 4.6 percent year-on-year in September compared with August.

Johannesburg - South Africa's headline consumer inflation was unchanged at 4.6 percent year-on-year in September compared with August, data from Statistics South Africa showed on Wednesday.

On a month-on-month basis, prices were flat in September, as they were previously.

Core inflation, which excludes the prices of food, non-alcoholic beverages, petrol and energy, was also steady at 5.3 percent year-on-year in September, but edged higher to 0.4 percent month-on-month from 0.2 percent.
