2 babies, 6 adults hacked to death

A family of eight, including two babies, have been hacked to death on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast.

Durban - Eight people, including two babies were hacked to death on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast near Mtwalume in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Details of the attack were sketchy, but police spokesman Major Thulani Zwane confirmed that four men, two women and two babies were hacked to death at Msinsini.

He could not confirm reports that one person was critically injured injured and that a Down syndrome child was unharmed.

Zwane, however, said the eight were family members.
