The three men are suspected of pulling off a robbery at a Caledon jewellery store on Tuesday morning.
Captain FC van Wyk says Grabouw SAPS members responded to information about a maroon Jeep with three suspects that were allegedly involved in the robbery.
Van Wyk says: “It is reported that an unidentified armed male entered the jewellery shop and threatened the two shop assistants.
“Another suspect entered and he had bags and cable ties.”
When the alarm went off the suspects fled and cops were notified.
Grabouw cops soon spotted the vehicle on the N2, just outside the town and pulled them over.
“Three suspects fitting the description as provided, aged between 26 and 31 were found inside the vehicle,” Van Wyk says.
“They were armed with two 9mm pistols and one .38 revolver, sixteen 9mm rounds and six .38 special rounds of ammunition were confiscated.”
The serial numbers of all three guns were filed off.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Caledon Magistrates’ Court soon.
