ARMACAD to host third international Armenian studies summer school
This 21-day summer school offers participants to master skills in written and oral modern Armenian. The program offers rapid deepening of knowledge in Armenian Literature, History and Arts.
The summer school includes lectures, sightseeing, dedicated discussions and seminars. The participants will have 2 Armenian language classes each day that will be preceded by lectures on Armenian literature, history, anthropology, art, culture, philology, political science and other themes.
This school is designed for students aged 18 and above who not only want to make well-grounded progress in their knowledge of the Eastern Armenian language, but also to deepen their knowledge of Armenian Studies and Armenia.
The participants will have an Armenian language course for 45 hours, divided into 15 days of instruction and focusing on grammar, reading, speaking, and writing. Another 24 hours is devoted to lectures on Armenian literature, history, anthropology, arts and culture, linguistics, etc.
The summer school will be accompanied by 6 days of tours to Tatev Monastery, Jermuk, Echmiadzin, Garni pagan temple, Lake Sevan, Ijevan, Dilijan and Tsakhkadzor, as well as daily visits to museums, cultural and academic institutions in Yerevan.
Our courses are open to anyone with elementary or intermediate knowledge of the Armenian language. The lectures are organized with the academic interests of the participants in mind to ensure that BA, MA, PhD students as well as post-docs and professors who work in Armenian Studies and relevant fields.
