Armenia's consumer price index in January-August 2022 increased by 8.4%
YEREVAN, September 26. /ARKA/. Armenia's consumer price index (CPI) in January-August 2022 was up 8.4% compared to the same period of 2021, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) said.
According to it, the consumer price index rose by 9.1% in August 2022 alone when compared to August 2021 and by 0.2% compared to July 2022.
Prices for manufactured goods rose 5.1% in the first eight months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, but dropped by 3.5% in August 2022 compared to August 2021, and by 1.8% compared to July 2022.
The Armenian government’s growth projection for 2022 is 7%; the inflation is set at 4% (± 1.5%). In September, the Central Bank of Armenia has revised upwards its growth forecast to 12.9% projecting also 10% inflation for 2022. -0-
