Armenian government postpones event on Independence Day
YEREVAN, Sept. 19. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has postponed an event, which was part of the Independence Day celebration because of the large-scale Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia, Public Television of Armenia reported quoting Armen Khachatryan, head of the information department of the Prime Minister's Office.
He said the event - "Hero of Our Time" awards ceremony- scheduled for September 21 was postponed indefinitely.
September 21, 2022 is the 31st anniversary of the country's independence. On this day in 1991 the Supreme Soviet of Armenia held a referendum on secession from the USSR and establishment of an independent state.
