Guillermo Del Toro Says Next Film Could Be Black & White 'Silva' About A Mexican Wrestler Fighting Vampire Politicians

We should have many more Guillermo del Toro films in our lives; at least two. There’s a big gap in GDT’s oeuvre between 2008’s “Hellboy II: The Golden Army” and 2013’s “Pacific Rim,” even though the filmmaker was attached to myriad projects in that time, including a “Frankenstein” and “Beauty And The Beast” film that never happened. It’s also because del Toro spent/wasted nearly five years on two films he almost made: “The Hobbit,” which Peter Jackson eventually made (GDT bailed after nearly two years of development because financing took forever); and “At The Mountains Of Madness,” which Universal canceled at the last minute because they got cold feet about the R-Rating.

There was also “Pacific Rim 2,” which almost began shooting this fall, but it’s been pushed back to a date TBD.
