YEREVAN, September 8. /ARKA/. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will help Armenian artisans sell their products outside the country. The four-year project has an estimated budget of $2.86 million, the USAID press office said.
The project will be implemented through the Artisan Empowerment Hub in partnership with the private sector organization NOVICA.
The goal is to provide opportunities to organize the sale of handicraft products from Armenia abroad, promote the growth of local communities through economic development and support traditional culture and art.
About 1,000 artisans are expected to be involved in the project. Their income is expected to exceed $1.35 million.
The products will be sold at NOVICA.com, UNICEF Market, Smithsonian Folklife Festival Marketplace, Kiva Store and dozens of other NOVICA partner sites. --0--
