Beeline and National Union of Employers start joint project to help young people become competitive at labor market

YEREVAN, October 9. / ARKA /. ArmenTel telecom (trading as Beeline) and Armenia’s National Union of Employers announced Thursday a joint project designed to help young people improve their competitiveness at the labor market. ArmenTel said the project is part of Beeline’s global social program called "Make your Mark".

The project’s aim is to help young people develop their skills for drawing up business plans, plan their careers, establish and maintain business processes, improve their competitiveness at the labor market. This all is supposed to cut labor migration and promote employment growth. This is a three-stage project.

In the first stage about 350 young people and students across Armenia will get an opportunity to participate in a career planning training course. In the second stage the 70 most active and enterprising young people with business ideas will be selected to have a special course on how to start business in Armenia.  In the final stage of the project 15-20 participants will get support for starting and advancing their own businesses.

"We emphasize our successful cooperation with the National Union of Employers, and we believe that this project will help young people change their lives for the better," ArmenTel CEO Andrei Pyatakhin is quoted as saying in a company press release.

"The National Union of Employers is grateful to Beeline for its assistance to this projects that will significantly improve the competitiveness of young people at the labor market. Beeline once again demonstrates a striking example of corporate responsibility to address socio-economic issues of the country by organizing conferences, research and training," the head of the Union Gagik Makaryan says.

The specialized jury and the contest committee will review the questionnaires to be filled by all participants to select the best proposals. The training course on career planning will involve young people from different universities and colleges of the capital and the regions. At the end of the course, participants will be given certificates.

ArmenTel is wholly owned by VimpelCom. It provides fixed and mobile telephony services, high-speed Internet and IPTV. -0-
