US signs Pacific Rim trading pact with 11 other countries covering 40% of the global economy

The deal involves the US, Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam but must now get through a sceptical US Congress.
