Yerevan to host session of La Francophonie
YEREVAN, October 5. /ARKA/. The 31st session of the Conference of Foreign Ministers of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) will be held in Yerevan on 10-11 October, Armenian foreign mministry said today.
Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian, Senegal foreign minister Mancur Ndiaye, whose country is chairing OIF and Secretary General of OIF Michaelle Jean sent invitations to foreign minsisters of 80 member countries and observers to attend the Yerevan event. Overall, about 500 representatives of member states and OIF Secretariat are expected to arrive in Armenia.
The conference will discuss the agenda of OIF, pressing international and regional problems. The conference will be followed by an official visit og Michaelle Jean to Armenia.
A rich cultural program is prepared for the delegates of the gathering, including a concert by famous French-Armenian singer Charles Aznavour on October 10 at Karen Demirchyan Sport-and Concert Complex.
Musical groups from France and Haiti will arrive in Armenia to give concerts in Yerevan and Gyumri. The Karen Demirchyan Complex, which will host the ministerial meeting, will have pavilions presenting tourism, high technologies, culture of Armenia, as well as exhibition of Armenian products.-0-
